While we’ve still got a whole month of summer left, it certainly feels like vacation is over, as proactive healthcare facilities are scrambling to find travelers as soon as possible before September.

Similar to May, August represents a transitional period for the market. Facilities experience lots of staffing turnover as permanent staff come back to work and summer travelers who haven’t extended with their hospitals leave for greener pastures.

What’s different from May, however, is that demand for temporary staff should rapidly increase instead of dipping. August is one of the busiest months for pediatric healthcare professionals, so flexible travelers will be able to jump on new contracts quickly.
