Traveler Talk

If you’re a veteran traveler—or are just interested in learning more about travel nursing and allied healthcare—chances are you have heard of Andrew Craig or the Traveler Talk Facebook community.

Andrew is a former travel acute care PCU travel nurse who started the Traveler Talk group on Facebook, and has recently launched the Traveler Talk website within the past week.  On the site, you’ll find tons of guides, personal stories from travelers and featured blog posts from members of the travel community.

One of our favorite items on the site so far is a personal blog by travel physical therapist Heather Marshall titled ‘Firewood and Snow Angels’, which provides a hilarious and relatable look into her life and moments from her first travel assignment.

You can find Heather’s story and more by visiting Traveler Talk, and you can also hear from tons of other travelers every day by joining the Traveler Talk Facebook group.

PT Adventures

While it’s great that there are so many travel nurse blogs, guides and resources out there, it can be harder to find similar help for those working in the allied healthcare realm.

PT Adventures is one of the blogs helping to fill that gap by providing in-depth guides and info to help traveling physical therapists succeed every day. The blog is run by Ellen and Stephen Stockhausen, a married couple who are both travel physical therapists.

What makes Stephen and Ellen’s blog so great for travelers is the depth of their expertise on important issues like traveling with a newborn, negotiating for better pay and paying off student loan debt on the road.

Fit Travel Life

Healthcare Traveler Today readers may already be familiar with Alex McCoy as a regular contributor, but since we missed out on including her blog the first time around we just had to add it in our 2019 featured blog list.

For those who don’t know, Alex runs Fit Travel Life, a travel nursing blog which not only covers important travel nursing topics but also focuses on helping travelers live healthy and happy with fitness tips, recipes, nutritional guides and more.

What we love about Fit Travel Life is not just the content, but also how Alex actively encourages her readers and Facebook group followers to improve their health by hosting accountability challenges and offering one-on-one mentoring for those looking for some extra help.

Joy In The Journey

If variety is the spice of life, then travel nurse Colleen Carney has created a wonderful spice with her blog, Joy In The Journey.

Videos of her adventures, detailed travel nursing blog posts, bite-sized vignettes about previous travel assignments, bullet point foodie guides—Joy In The Journey has something great for every traveler to read and enjoy.

We’re showing a bit of our bias as a Texas-based news organization, but one of our favorite pieces of content from Colleen’s blog is the video of her road trip journey to Austin from last summer.

Traveling Gypsy Nurse

With all of the challenges surrounding travel nursing—and travel healthcare in general—it’s easy to feel bogged down by all of the complicated information you need to process. Sometimes you just want to sit there, look at gorgeous photos and maybe find some inspiration to remind you why you considered traveling in the first place.

Traveling Gypsy Nurse is a place where you can find that inspiration—and all of that other important stuff, too. Kearstyn has created a fun and visually unique blog to share her adventures in travel nursing, both in the states and internationally.
